Favorite Physical Activity Brackets – March Madness
Do you follow college basketball and March Madness? Nothing beats the fast-paced competition of watching the teams move forward in the tournament of 64 teams. Why not get your students in on the fun with this modified March Madness bracket to pick their favorite physical activity? You can do this during March or really any time of year that you want to encourage physical activity in your students. Download these unique bracket ideas for free at the bottom of this blog post.
HOW TO USE THE FAVORITE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY BRACKETS
Print out the bracket ideas that you want to use. Take a vote each week in March.
- Week 1: Student votes for one activity from each bracket in Round 1. Tally the votes and place the winner in the 2nd round of brackets.
- Week 2: Students choose their favorite activities from Round 2. Tally votes and place the winner in Round 3 of brackets.
- Week 3: Students choose their favorite activities from Round 3. Write winners down in 4th round.
- Week 4: Vote from the last two activities to pick an overall winner!
The brackets are in large size and one with 2 per page if you want the children to circle the activity to cast their vote. One bracket is for general physical activity and one bracket is for therapy activities. Let the best activity win!!!!!
WHEN IS A GOOD TIME TO USE YOUR FAVORITE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY BRACKETS?
This is a fun activity to go along with March Madness. You could use these brackets any time of year to gauge what physical or therapy activity children enjoy most. It also helps to give the children ideas for leisure activities outside of school time.

- math unit on percentages – calculate how many voted for each physical activity
- Occupational therapy sessions to encourage leisure activities
- Physical therapy sessions to practice different sport skills
