- Understand that behavior and anxiety are forms of communication when a child is dysregulated.
- Identify fun and functional sensory-motor experiences to build new sensory pathways and improve comfort for learning in the home, clinic, and school settings.
- Learn strategies to address “problem” behaviors such as fidgeting, transitions and temper outbursts.
Behavior is a form of communication and is often the only way children are able to express themselves. This course contains the most recent research and treatment strategies to assist your child/clients/students. The resource section is packed with recommended books, articles/studies, and visual strategies you can use immediately.
More Information about the Presenter of Is Is Sensory or Is It Behavior Course
Cara Koscinski has her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and has been a therapist since 1997. She is currently attending university for her doctorate in occupational therapy. Her anticipated graduation date is August 2019.
She has 20+ years of experience as an OT in acute care, adult rehabilitation, pediatrics, driving assessment, hand-therapy, EI, and school-based settings. She is certified in Ocular Neuro Rehab, a trained Irlen vision screener, trained in Therapeutic Listening, and the parent of two children with SPD and autism.
