Shut the Box Printable Game for the Holidays

This week, I decided to create a Shut the Box printable game for the holidays to play with the kids (and adults!).

Do you know how to play Shut the Box? It is a classic game that dates back centuries played with dice. We love this game in our house. You can play it with one player or more. It is quick but challenging. We frequently play and chat as we pass the game around to see who can score the highest. This week, I decided to create a Shut the Box printable game for the holidays to play with the kids (and adults!). You can download it for free at the bottom of the post.

At the bottom of the post you can sign up to get the free download for this holiday game.

You will need two dice and crayons to play this game.

The object of the game is to color in all the holiday light numbers 1-10 or get the lowest number possible.

Player one will roll the dice. Add up the dice.

Color in the holiday light number(s) that add up to the total.

For example, if you roll an 8 you can color in the 8 OR 5 and 3 OR 6 and 2 OR 7 and 1.

Continuing rolling both dice unless you only have the numbers 1-6 left. Then you can choose to roll only one die.

When you can not color in any more holiday light numbers your turn is over.

Play against someone or play by yourself and try to get the lowest score possible.
