How to Play the Owl Board Game

There are two ways to play this game – against each other or as a cooperative game where there are no specific winners.

The object of the game is to be the first player to make it the Owl in the FINISH circle. Each player needs a printed copy of the game board. At the start of the game, player one rolls a die.

Color inside the number of circles that you roll. Don’t forget to check the arrows if you can go up or down spaces.

If you go backward, color in the circle a darker shade. Continue taking turns until the first player colors their way to the FINISH circle.

To play it as a cooperative game with a shared objective, work together to see how fast you can get to the single owl at the top of the page.

To use it as a one-player game, again see how few rolls of the dice it takes for you to get to the finish line.

Want to Play it Over and Over Again?

If you want to replay the game over and over again you can:

  • print multiple black and white copies
  • have one player color it in and laminate the game. Use game markers to move along the board instead of coloring in the circles. This is a good option for younger kids who may not be able to color inside the lines but they can count and move a game piece along the path.
