INSTRUCTIONS TO CREATE THE TURKEY CRAFT PRINTABLE
After you download the free printable template at the end of this post, print the PDF packet. Provide each student with the free turkey craft template. There are two options. You can use the template to cut out colored paper OR you can color the template to create the fun turkey craft.
For younger students such as preschoolers, it would be best to cut out the colored construction paper and have the child glue the body parts together. For kindergarteners and older kids, they can color and cut the free turkey template to create the turkey.
Here are the directions for the free printable turkey template in more detail:
- Print the PDF packet.
- Color the turkey printables with crayons, markers or colored pencils.
- Cut out each of the pieces of the turkey.
- Use a glue stick or regular glue and begin to assemble the turkey.
- Fold the circle in half to create the turkey body.
- Paste the head onto the turkey body.
- Add the turkey wattle and beak.
- If you want you can put googly eyes over the printed eyes on the turkey’s face.
- Fan fold the long strips of paper to create the turkey’s legs.
- Add the feet to the bottom and glue the legs on.
- Paste the turkey’s wings on the folded circle.
- Glue the turkey’s feathers to the back of the turkey. Use as many as you wish.

ADDITIONAL IDEAS FOR THE TURKEY CRAFT PRINTABLE
Here are a few more fun activities to add to this turkey craft. You could print the turkey on cardstock paper and just practice assembling it. THis would be a good idea for toddlers or children who struggle with their fine motor skills.
Want to add a gratitude lesson? You can make this a thankful turkey craft by writing what you are thankful for on each of the feathers.
You could add a large popsicle stick or wooden dowel to the turkey craft printable to make it into adorable puppet Thanksgiving turkeys.
