Button Gloves
After seeing this idea at the Time For Play blog I thought it would be a great activity
to share for pediatric occupational therapy.
Purpose: This activity encourages finger isolation, thumb opposition, proprioceptive input and fun!
Materials: gloves, matching buttons and glue
Preparation: Glue the buttons onto the gloves matching the fingers on each glove.
Activity 1: Practice opposition. You can call out the colors that the child needs to match with the thumb.
Activity 2: Provide proprioceptive input by matching up the buttons and pressing against the hands
Activity 3: Tap the gloves on the floor using the buttons to make noise.
