How to Use the Emotional Regulation PDF Worksheet Packet:
- Read and review the goals for the emotion journals.
- Review the MY EMOTIONS page with the children. Encourage students to work towards the emotions in the GREEN AREA.
- Provide the students with the self-checklist I Can Reach My Goals to review.
- Encourage the children to write words, phrases, or draw pictures on the first worksheet for each feeling.
- Using the words, phrases, or drawings, write complete sentences to describe feeling that emotion. Choose double lined or single lined paper based on the child’s handwriting abilities.
- Use the Coping Strategies examples (or use your own) and list strategies to cope with different feelings.
