Occupational and Physical Therapists Have Special Gifts
Ever notice how as pediatric occupational therapists and physical therapists, we observe children through a different lens than most? You may see and analyze a child’s actions very differently than the teacher in the room or the parent at home. This observational skill seems to improve vastly when you become a parent yourself and watch the intricacies of human development day in and day out in your own home. Each and every child has abilities and talents. It is part of our job to help discover those abilities, encourage the child to develop and most importantly educate others on how to do the same. Whether it be to present a just right activity for a child or to tweak the environment ever so slightly, we just see things a little differently than most when it comes to childhood development. It is truly a gift!
