How to Complete the Free Visual Spatial Printable:
Once you sign up below, download and print the freebie. You can print it in grayscale or color with the blue lines on it. Printing in color makes the visual spatial and visual motor task slightly easier to complete.
Give the child the puzzle and a pencil. Can they copy the picture of the crab exactly moving from dot to dot?
Want to Add in Shoulder and Core Strengthening?
If you want to sneak in some shoulder and core strengthening, try the following positions while the child complete the free visual spatial printable:
- hang the puzzle on the wall at eye level. The child will have to reach the shoulder up and extend the wrist to complete the puzzle.
- put the puzzle on the floor on a tray. The child will have to lie down in prone (on their belly) and complete the puzzle.
Want to Further Improve Visual Spatial Skills?
If you want to improve visual spatial skills even more, provide the student with verbal cues as they are completing the puzzle. For example, “oh I see you are drawing the line to the right to complete the picture”. Using visual spatial language can help children understand better.
