What Skills are Practiced with this Activity?
When students complete this summer handwriting worksheet they are working on the following skills:
- letter sizing – how big are the lowercase letters
- letter alignment – where do the lowercase letters go on the line
- letter spacing – how far apart should letters be spaced
- visual motor skills – students need to use their eyes and hands to write and color inside the boxes.
How to Complete the Summer Letter Sizing Worksheet
Start out by downloading and printing the free printable at the end of the post. You will need a pencil and a red, blue, and yellow crayon to complete the activity.
- Write all of the lowercase letters of the alphabet inside the correct size box.
- Color the small letters red, the tall letters blue and the low letters yellow.
- Use the word bank with the three Summer words and your knowledge of letter size to solve the boxed words.
